I'm pretty happy to announce that as of the start of 2016 I am teaching studio classes EXCLUSIVELY at Clarkston Hot Yoga and our coming-soon second location, Latitude 42 Yoga and Fitness (located in Oxford MI). There was a time about a year and a half ago where I was teaching at four to five yoga studios at any given time and it was just a lot. It was more difficult to get involved in the community atmosphere of four different yoga studios, especially when teaching yoga isn't even my only job and I still have music teaching to focus on as well. So all in all this is a great situation for me - be sure to check out my schedule and stay tuned because I should have lots of fun and exciting things coming up in these next few months and throughout the year!!!
This weekend I was fortunate to attend a workshop in Grand Blanc with Irene Pappas (@fitqueenirene). She is a teacher I have followed for quite some time, and a few weeks ago I saw a random post that she would be in my area teaching a few workshops. The class we attended was a Playful Vinyasa practice and I definitely took away a lot of cool things from the class! I loved her way of teaching, her approach, and everything else that she brought to the practice. Hope to have the chance to practice with her again in the future.
I'm very happy to be adding more Ashtanga Yoga onto my schedule - Wednesdays at 6pm at Clarkston Hot Yoga! I have an incredible love for the ashtanga yoga practice so I'm happy to have another opportunity to teach this class each week. Be sure to check out my class schedule page to see when and where you can practice with me each week.
The last four weeks were spent in South Lake Tahoe, CA doing my 500hour certification with Doug Swenson. It was quite an experience and I am now a RYT500! Soon I will also upgrade my first certificcation and be an ERYT200/RYT500.
I have some very very exciting opportunities coming up that I can't share much about now but I will have more news when I am able to share it. Lots of teaching in my future and expanding into aerial and SUP yoga as well!! This May and June I will be traveling to Lake Tahoe, California to complete my 500 hour yoga teacher training. I'll be studying with the amazing Doug Swenson. I'm so excited to travel to somewhere I've never been, to have a month to be devoted day and night to yoga, and for this opportunity that I have created and made possible for myself. And I can't wait to learn and further my own practice as a student and teacher.
Some other exciting opportunities have been arising lately - I've been teaching more privates and small group classes lately which is very nice and a different dynamic from teaching studio classes. I've now also instructed a handful of workshops at Clarkston Hot Yoga and am excited to be adding more onto the schedule before my trip!! I will be teaching yoga at the 51st District Court this next month as well! I am grateful every day to have such an amazing job that allows me to be a part of an amazing community, to build true and genuine connections with people, to embrace healthy living.. and it's just so freaking fun! I am so excited for some changes in the upcoming months. Not only am I teaching more violin lessons per week than ever before but I'll be adding several new yoga classes to my schedule. Sadly I will be giving up my Monday night Venus class at Clarkston Hot Yoga, but I will be taking over the Saturday morning Earth class effective immediately and the Thursday evening Vinyasa starting in September.
I am also so excited to be part of the team at Twisted Root Yoga and Fitness, a brand new studio coming soon to Clarkston. I will have more This past Saturday I began teaching a new class that will be on my schedule each week. This class is for individuals with disabilities. The program is being put together by Strive Recreational Therapy and will be held each Saturday at 10:30am at Clarkston Hot Yoga. This class will be led by both myself and Colin Smith (CYT-200). I'm very excited and grateful for this new opportunity. Please feel free to share info about this class with anyone you feel might benefit. It is also open to family members. See the contact info on the following flyer for more information!
